Application of Zero-Emission Initiative Using Biocoke Technology in Horokanai Town

Horokanai Town has known to produce the most buckwheat in Japan, approximately more than 2,900 tons of annually. In recent years, demand for shelled increased. As result, industrial waste which included husks and residues, are generated large quantities. Currently, town does not have an effective treatment or recycling methods managing wastes from residue. Therefore, we aimed investigate production biocoke four biomass materials: husks, residue, garbage, sewage sludge. Furthermore, also analyzed a process reduce kerosene consumption by using as heating fuel boiler. It was found that 108 can be produced If those used government building, 51.5 kl/year 81 tons/year CO2 emissions reduced. addition, incineration ash boiler contain heavy metals rich minerals, therefore it returned agricultural land.
